SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. SEO axtivities are one of the major activities of Digital Marketing uses to enhance website's visibility and page rankings in Search Engine Page Results (SERP) for particular keyword phrases or our business relevant terms.

SEO activities categorized into two types

1. SEO On Page Optimization: activities performing within a website is called as on page optimization. In an easy way i conclude this activity as inserting keywords in title, meta description, meta keywords, URL, Header tags (H1 to H6), image alt tags, content and rectifying issues like canonical URLs, broken links, broken images, sitemaps, robots.txt files, Google analytics & search console codes. 

2. SEO Off Page Optimization: It is an promotional activity of our website in other websites. this can be done through some activities like Article submission, Classified ads, blog commenting, Guest blogging, Forum posting, Social bookmarking, Directory submission, Press releases...

SEO On Page and Off Page activities

Main purpose of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is aims to display our website on top of SERP whenever a user searches for our business related service terms in search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing, Ask, AOL, etc.

In SEO, executive  builds "backlinks" for websites from other relevant highly authorized sites. Back-link can be described as an incoming link to our website from relevant websites. In generally we can consider it as connection between sites. Backlinks are two types

1. Do follow backlinks
2. No follow backlinks

DoFollow, NoFollow are HTML attributes which are uses to instructs search engine robots to crawl and not to crawl that mentioned website URL from connected websites.

We should build more DoFollow links than Nofollow to get higher rankings in SERP. Maintain build links ratio 65% < Dofollow and 35% > Nofollow.

Search engines consider all this backlinks as votes, which website has high number of votes that will be displayed on top.
